Demo Day a Success!
The weather gods were truly smiling upon us this October 12, as our 5th annual Demonstration Day at Plains Park in Milford was darn near a perfect event. Plenty of pilots, spectators, food and entertainment of all kinds!

Set-up went smoothly as there were plenty of hands to get things ready. Pilots were able to ge in a few warm-up flights before spectators started to arrive.
A warm Autumn day, light winds and just about every size and type of model airplane you could imagine! |
Bill Lloyd's trainer got a real work-out during the day...as did Bill! |
A perfect day to take a few turns around the patch! |
Kids of all ages have come to expect the chance to take the sticks for a training session. I had several say that this was the second or third event they've attended. |
Shane Spendlove's 3D demo was a real crowd-pleaser.
Several pilots had the opportunity to show off their talents...including John Holcomb, who had a jumbo sized sound system to back him up! |
Planes of all types had the chance to take to the skies. This electric Super Cub was piloted by Sean Berardi...at 12 years old, he is our youngest member. |
With the flying lawnmower retired this year...Brad Kaye and Bill O'Donnell worked feverishly to have Snoopy's doghouse ready for the day. Snoopy had some technical difficulties and didn't get to take on The Red Baron as planned. He did fly later in the day, however. |

Scott Annis flew his quarter-scale Fokker D7 several times throughout the day. Although Ted Zaborski decided to keep his new B-25 on the ground, it was still the talk of the event as it was admired by pilots and spectators alike.
... So, with this year's Demonstration Day behind us, there's already talk of what we can do next year to keep things interesting and fresh. The weather helped a lot, but thanks go to Brad Kaye, Scott Annis, Bill O'Donnell and the rest of the folks that worked hard to put the whole thing together!
