Brad Kaye has been contacted by the town of Hopedale. They are having an Oktoberfest event to celebrate the completion of Draper Corporation’s "Little Red Shop" renovation on October 3. They have asked if we would be willing to fly any float planes at Hopedale Pond as entertainment for the crowd. Brad and I agreed, and if anyone has a plane on floats we would like as many as possible. This will be different and should be fun.
... Demonstration Day at Plains Park in Milford is scheduled for Sunday, October 11. The event is all set and I have received the insurance certificate and sanction from AMA. This is always a keynote event for MMAC, but help is needed (for set-up and coordination as well as pilots to fly) to make it a success as in the past years.
... Our Family Banquet is all set for October 25 at the Coachmen’s Lodge restaurant in Bellingham, MA. Please make reservations as soon as possible so I can give the restaurant a final count.
... I have continued to be in contact with John Holcomb’s wife, and I can report that he is doing great. John is up and walking and his condition has greatly improved over the past few weeks. Amy asked me to thank everyone in the club for the many cards and visits…they were greatly appreciated.
... On a final note, anyone interested in a MMAC Board of Directors position should make it known at the September 29 meeting at the Legion Hall so that we get organized for 2010.

Club Meeting
August 25, 2009

The meeting was brought to order by club president Bill O’Donnell. A motion to accept the July secretary’s report as stated in the August 2009 Yankee Flyer was made and seconded. The motion passed. The treasurer’s report was given by Dave Seale. For the month of August

Income $100.00... Expense $55.92

... There has been no news from the state on permission to dig footings for the shade shed. I will contact Ron Clough for an update.
... Bill Costello will contact the Medfield police about the unauthorized use of the field and the vandalism that has been taking place. Most recently, the legs on one of the tables was burned.
... It is club officer nomination and election time. Please contact Bill O’Donnell if you are interested in any of the club officer positions. The nominations will close at the club meeting in September with officers announced at the Family Banquet on October 25..
